Overview

Image Search Application
that helps you find out certain typefaces

What do you do when you find attractive typefaces from other design works? Do you just pass by? We had so many typefaces that we wanted to figure out, so we came to an idea of creating a mobile application for searching typefaces by using visual search feature.

Kick Off

Key Questions
- What is the product ?
- Who might be our competitors ?
- Who will be the main users ?
- What do our users need the most ?

To start with our first question ‘What is the product’, we defined our goal. Our goal was to create a mobile application that enables users to search typefaces whenever, wherever they want.

Research

Ideation

Before sketching wireframes, our team went through the ideation process which helped us organize key features and structures of service.

Let’s Analyze

    1. Constructed a user flow to draw the overall user experience.
    2. Wrote both positive & negative test scenarios to figure out what might be the possible strengths & weaknesses of our service.
    3. Analyzed the impacts of each strength and weakness to figure out how to improve user experiences.

Key Features

Based on what we have found, we organized key features and drew the information architecture of our service.

Service Value
    1. You can take a picture or browse it from your album to find out the name of certain fonts you want to find out.
    2. You will get a list of fonts that are similar to a picture you've browsed.
    3. You can save unique font styles after adjusting letter space and font size or even more.
    4. You can link your font cloud account so that you can activate fonts directly to your workspace.
    5. You can get useful information about typography, or even recommendations of fonts in use from experts.

Information Architecture

Design

We first made low fidelity wireframes to visualize our information architecture, and then we pointed out some challenges that might disturb users’ experience.
